I think it is hard to be a vegetarian when no one around you is one. I mean think about it, no one else has a reason to make another dish and let’s be honest with one another, and it’s usually just “you” who isn’t eating meat. I kind of feel like I need to be eating before I go out to functions where fish isn’t on the menu. Eating appetizers just is not that satisfying and it’s not that filling.
Okay, so I did some revamping on my blog today (so much gets done when I have the day off)! YAY! I now have tabs that separate everything out. I have separate tabs for my daily life as a pescetarian and recipes (fishy dishes and veggie dishes).

The Vegetarian That Came to Dinner
Last evening, my family went to my Grandma's house for dinner. One thing I have learned about my family is, that just because you are not eating certain things, does not mean that they are not going to eat them. That being said, my Grandma made pork. Luckily for me, she also made some "fish" so I would not have to bring my own fish. While I defiantly appreciate the fact that there was another option for food, it is hard to be satisfied with just appetizers. She made me clam dip (I’ll put the recipe up soon) and shrimp cakes. I really tired to eat a ton of the green beans and apple sauce, but I just felt unsatisfied with dinner.

It is more difficult to be a vegetarian when nobody around you is, that is for sure. Family dinners are the hardest part for me b/c I usually just end up eating a side salad and some vegetables as my main meal. The more recipes you learn for main dishes, the less you'll notice. I need to make veggie lasagna!
